Chalkline / Features / Teaching and presenting

For classrooms

Explain it one step at a time

Frames become slides, shapes appear one click at a time, and the laser shows where to look. Afterwards, turn the board's history into a short video for students who missed the class.

Present step by step

Turn on step by step and each click reveals the next shape, in the order you drew it; an arrow arrives with the shape it points to.

  • Arrow keys, Space, Page Up and Page Down, so clickers work
  • B blanks the screen
  • Present on a projector or TV as a second screen where the browser allows

A laser for any moment

Press K for the laser pointer while teaching, not only while presenting. The trail fades after a moment, so the board stays clean.

  • Works with mouse, touch and stylus
  • Big remote friendly focus rings on TVs

Timelapse videos

Chalkline keeps a timeline of every change, so it can play the board back being drawn and save it as an MP4, WebM or GIF.

  • Wide 720p, 1080p or square
  • 5, 10 or 20 seconds
  • Made in the browser, no upload

In Hindi, Tamil and Telugu

Switch the editor's language in Settings. Boards hold text in any language, and Indian scripts get matching handwritten and plain fonts.

  • हिन्दी, தமிழ், తెలుగు interface
  • Kalam, Kavivanar and Gurajada handwriting fonts
  • Works on low cost laptops and phones
